The Columbia Valley Smokeshow Competition is a Kansas City Barbecue Society International Master Series Sanctioned Contest. This event is open to professional barbecue competitors as well as amateurs who just love gettin’ piggy with it!

WHERE YOU’LL COMPETE:

The second annual Smoke Show will be held in the heart of the Columbia Valley, surrounded by mountain views, in Invermere, BC. The competition and festival will take place on the Lake Windermere Lion’s Campground, conveniently located off Highway 93/95, just five minutes from Invermere’s downtown.

HOW MUCH CAN YOU WIN:

There will be $5,000 in prizes with the grand champion taking home $1,500!

WHAT’S INCLUDED IN YOUR REGISTRATION FEE:

Camping at the Lake Windermere Lion’s Club campground for Friday May 31, Saturday June 1,  and Sunday June 2.  The cost to register is $350.  Sites have power. Potable water will be available on the competition grounds. This fee does not include the cost of meat, which competitors must bring themselves.

Should you wish, each competing team is offered 30 minutes (15 presentation/15 Q&A) to talk to the public about their process, their BBQ story, their products etc.

WHO YOU’RE SUPPORTING:

This festival and competition will also be a fundraising event for local non-profits such as the Lake Windermere Lion’s Club.

COMPETITION GUIDELINES:

Teams are required to cook four types of meat (Chicken, Pork Ribs, Pork Butt, and Brisket). The cooking source is required to be wood, wood pellets, or charcoal. KCBS rules and regulations apply, which you can download here.   To register, email:  lwdlions@gmail.com
